GE-C351

Product Overview


GE-C351 is a Gigabit Ethernet media converter. It supports conversion of Gigabit Ethernet 1000Base-T signal to 1000Base-LX over a single fiber strand using an integrated Wavelength Division Multiplexer (WDM). The WDM technology employs passive optic multiplexing, thus multiplexs the transmit (TX) and receive (RX) lines onto a single fiber. It will save a half cabling cost by replacing regular dual fiber converter with GE-C351.
A pair of GE-C351 of distinct wavelength, 1310nm and 1550nm, should be installed in pair, i.e., 1310 model at one end and 1550 model at the other. It transmits up to 20 km point to point over single mode fiber. The GE-C351 can be used as a standalone unit or as a slide-in module to Ruby Tech CR-10XX series converter rack for use at a central wiring closet.
